Neuro 1 for Mental Acuity Feb 17, 2012

All too much, I see people enter the gym with good intentions and the mindset of having a good intense workout. But then, they see a friend or family member or whoever, and that focus quickly disappears.

During their so-called workout, they talk for 5 minutes between sets or even during sets and their initial good intentions to have a great workout are long gone. The gym has become a social hour for them. Many times, these culprits are the same ones who get so frustrated that their progress has come to a screeching halt.

If you are the type who needs a bit of mental focus to keep the train on track, Neuro1 by Nutrition 53 could give you the mental boost you need. Designed to keep your mind where it needs to be during training, Neuro1 may help to ensure that your time in the gym is spent on getting in shape, not discussing your favorite TV shows.

Now, I can understand wanting to say hi to your friends, but when things start to get off track and socializing becomes the main priority, it’s time to make changes in your workout. Neuro 1  may be just the pre-workout mental boost you’re looking for.

What Are Essential Amino Acids? Feb 11, 2012

Protein is made up of amino acids. In all, there are 20 amino acids which make up protein and muscle. Of those 20, there are 10 essential aminos.

By essential, this means that your body cannot produce these amino acids on its own, and they must be obtained through an outside source (i.e. food, supplements).

There are 8 essential aminos in adults and 10 in children. These aminos are:

arginine (required for the young, but not for adults)
histidine (required for the young, but not for adults)
 isoleucine
 leucine
 lysine
 methionine
 phenylalanine
 threonine
 tryptophan
 valine

A failure to obtain any one of these essential aminos will result in degradation of the body’s muscle. While fats and starches (carbohydrates) can be stored by the body, amino acids are not and must be supplied through dietary means every day.

If you have ever seen a supplement or food that boasts that it is a “complete protein”, this means that it supplies all of the essential amino acids.

If you are trying to gain muscle, you can see the importance of essential amino acids. In order to maximize muscle gaining and reduce muscle loss, the essential amino acids are the foundation in which your muscles will be built upon. Don’t work out without them!

GABA for Relaxation and More Jan 28, 2012

GABA or gamma-amino butyric acid is a natural supplement can help you relax, lower stress levels and create a better sleeping pattern. Without getting too technical, GABA is an important chemical within the human brain. It is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, and as such it serves the brain by regulating the firing of neurons.

Without GABA, your muscles would be constantly tense, your mind would never stop racing, and your overall ability to function would be severely impaired. GABA supplements can be taken to increase these valuable resources in your body and they do it naturally.

The general overall sensations that gamma-amino butyric acid gives are unique, and not like any other prescribed or over the counter available natural supplement or drug. GABA is an all natural supplement that has little to no side effects in most people.

GABA’s Benefits:

  • Increase in the level of Human Growth Hormones (HGH)
  • Induces relaxation and sleep
  • Reduces muscle tension
  • Reduces stress, anxiety and depression
  • Promotes general well being

GABA supplements  also help in several other medical complications including Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD, hypertension or HBP, obesity, insomnia, alcoholism and many more.

GABA supplements are helpful for any active individuals, bodybuilders or athletes. They help in improving the body’s lean muscle mass, which is GABA’s conductive anabolic property and its lipotropic property, helps in fat reduction and increased weight loss at the same time.

EverythingAntiAging.com carries a great selection of GABA Supplements at everyday low prices.  Go ahead and take a look you will sleep better and feel more relaxed than ever before.

How To Gain Weight Apr 13, 2011

To many people in the world when you tell them you are trying to gain weight they think you are crazy, but there are a large group of people who want to gain weight. Their reasons vary from sports, to illness, to aesthetics. What ever their reason, gaining weight can be just as difficult to do as losing weight, especially when you are trying to gain weight but not trying to add a lot of body fat. This task can be quiet difficult.

There are a few ways to gain weight. One way is to increase you caloric intake. Increasing your caloric intake above what your body utilizes can cause your body to begin storing extra body fat. For some this may not be a issue, especially if you feel that you are to skinny or boney. Many athletes need additional weight to play certain sports. Football players in particular often need to put on a few pounds and often basketball players who are tall and lanky need addition weight to be able to fight for position under the goal.

The best way to gain weight is through a combination of resistance weight training, increasing you calories with nutrient dense foods and supplements, and potentially boosting hormones like testosterone and GH. I have written several times about the quality of a particular weight gain supplement called Mass Maker. It is made by Beverly Nutrition, a nutrition supplement manufacturer that has been around for over 40 years. That is unheard of in this industry. They have been around
that long because the make some of the highest quality supplements in the world. Mass Maker works well because it is not a sugar loaded high calorie drink, but rather it is a nutrient dense drink that feeds and repairs muscles to give you additional muscle mass and therebyr more weight.

Do I think that other weight gainers serve a purpose? Yes I do, if you are training hard and need to gain as much weight as possible even if it is partially fat, then the super weight gainers should be added to you weight gaining routine.

So for football players, basketball players, wrestlers, MMA fighters and all other athletes that want to put on lean muscle weight, Mass Maker is an excellent choice for gaining weight.

Is Your Pre-Workout Nutrition On Target Apr 7, 2011

Throughout my years of bodybuilding, gym owner, and personal training I have seen eager young weight lifters come and go and most of them go. One big reason that young bodybuilders don’t become old bodybuilders it the fact that most do not reach the goals they had in mind for their physiques. Many give up quickly because they are not the size of Ronnie Coleman after 1 year of lifting weights. Others who stick around longer but eventually quit hit plateaus that they can not get past and feel that they are just spinning their wheels.

One of the critical mistakes I see them make is not having their nutrition routine in place. Someone told me once to match my workout to my nutrition not my nutrition to my workout. I never really knew what that meant for a long time until I hit a plateau. I had been making good muscular gains for a few years but then got stuck around 195 pounds. I tried new lifting routines, negatives, isometrics, explosive routines, training 7 days a week and many other workouts but nothing seemed to help, I was stuck at 195 lbs.

That is when I remembered the saying, “Match my workout to my nutrition”. Sure I was trying to eat more but I was not eating at the right time nor eating the right things at the right time. I never thought about my pre workout nutrition. So I decided to do some research on the how foods help you during times of physical stress. It turns out that eating a good meal and taking good supplements after the physical workout is important but what is also important is having the proper nutrients and glycogen stores in your system and ready to be called upon is critical.

This is how it went down. I would work a 8-10 day and go straight to the gym. I would take a ephedra supplement to get me fired up for the workout but never ate anything because I didn’t want to throw up. This was a big mistake and the sole reason I was stuck at 195 lbs.

I found a product called Mass Maker from Beverly International. I had always thought is was just a weight gainer, well it turns out that it is one of the most complete nutrition drinks available. Yes there are plenty other good ones now but this was 15 years ago.
Once I started using Mass Maker about 2 hours before my workout I noticed my energy was better throughout my workout. I thought I didn’t hit it hard, because I was not exhausted. The next thing I noticed was that my pumps in the gym were fuller. Somethings I like my skin would explode it was so tight. Then finally after about 6 weeks I started noticing weight gain. I jumped across the 200 pound barrier for the first time in my life. This gain in weight continued until I reached about 215 lbs. This took about 6 months. Over the next few years I got my weight up to 240 lbs at 6% body fat and competed for the first time as a heavy weight at 212 pounds at 4% body-fat.

I can think back to how discouraged I was at going to the gym day after day and trying new things only to see the scale read 195 lbs for nearly a year. I would have been very easy to quit but I glad I didn’t. I only wish that there was someone to tell me about pre-work nutrition then. Follow the this link to get my full layout of a preworkout meal plan

BodyBuilding On A Budget Apr 4, 2011

As a college student I had already been a competitive bodybuilder and didn’t want to stop building muscle while I was in college for 4 or 5 years. However as most of you know college is expensive and takes up a lot of your time. This means less time for work and less time for making money.

As most of you know EveryThingAnitAging.com has the lowest prices on BodyBuilding Supplements but even with the lowest prices in the world it can still cost a few dollars to buy the proper supplementation needed to continue to put on muscle.

So what is a lifter to do?

I’m going to give you a short list of the most economical ways to get good nutritional supplements to continue your muscle growth even though you wallet may be experiencing atrophy.

First thing that I always tell a new bodybuilder is that you must have good nutrition. If you don’t have good nutrition you are wasting your time. If your wallet is tight you should try to maximize your supplement dollar. There are still a few quality proteins out there at a fair price. Protein is essential for building muscle and bodybuilders need more that others. 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day is a good guide. One of our best proteins for the price is Pure Whey Fusion, by Champion Nutrition For $40.

OK, now that your protein is taken care of we are still going to stay after the nutrition aspect of building muscle. Trace minerals and vitamins are critical to building healthy muscle. Deficiencies in these areas don’t show up immediately but will eventually with catastrophic results. I recommend either the Beverly Super Pack or Universal Animal Pack, both are good and fairly priced.

The last item I would recommend for the weight lifter on a budget is a good creatine product. Ultimate Nutrition has 1000 grams of creatine, 100% Creatine Monohydrate 1000g Ultimate Nutrition for $22.99.

If you have a little more money to spend the last item I would suggest is Beverly International Mass Maker. This products name is somewhat misleading. Even though it can be used to build muscle mass, Mass Maker is one of the most complete meal replacements made. Beverly International makes some of the purest supplements available. You can use this product to replace junk food meals and actually save yourself money.

So there you have it, for less than $100 per month you can insure that your bodybuilding goals or weight lifting aspirations can continue to benefit you and not harm your physique. Certainly there are other supplements that you can take to accelerate your muscle building endeavors but it you money is tight this is the best plan to follow to make sure you are doing your body good.
